Privacy Policy
Effective August 30, 2026
Epic Life Planner is a weekly planning service. This policy explains what we collect so we can recommend things for your household, who sees that information, and how you can change or delete it. Using the service means you agree to this policy and to our Terms of Use.
Who we are
Epic Life Planner (“we,” “us”) operates this website and the weekly issue from Memphis, Tennessee. We send personalized outing and travel recommendations by email. We do not book tickets, hotels, or flights for you.
What we collect
We collect the information you give us and a little that the service needs to run:
- Account. Name, email address, and a hashed password if you register that way. We also store whether the email is verified. If you continue with Google, Google shares your name and email with us so we can create or sign in to the account.
- Household and preferences. Household shape (solo, couple, or family), children’s ages when you provide them, zip code, drive time, local and yearly budgets, interests, preferred days and times, special dates you add (birthdays, anniversaries, and the like), and accessibility notes such as a nap window, stroller-friendly only, or avoiding crowds. We look up city and coordinates from the zip so we can rank nearby events.
- Billing. If you start a paid trial or subscription, Stripe collects your payment method. We store a Stripe customer id and subscription status. We do not see or store your full card number.
- Session. A login cookie, plus IP address and browser user agent on the session record, so we can keep you signed in and notice abuse.
- Product use. Past issues, picks you swap or skip, and the profile settings you change later.
- Sell-out alerts. We store whether you asked to be texted if a pick is about to sell out. We do not collect a phone number today, and we do not send texts until we do.
- Google Calendar (optional). If you connect Google Calendar, we receive tokens to read events so we can plan around what is already on the calendar, and to create events when you tap Add to calendar. You can disconnect that from Profile.
We do not run advertising pixels or third-party analytics on the site today.
How we use it
We use this information to:
- Create your account, verify your email, and let you sign in.
- Rank events and write a weekly issue for your household, including sending household context (name, email, location, ages, budgets, interests, special dates, and constraints) to an AI model provider so the issue can be researched and written.
- Email the weekly issue, plus account mail such as verification and password reset.
- Process trials, subscriptions, refunds, and cancellations.
- If you connect Google Calendar, avoid conflicts with events already on it and add picks you choose.
- Respond to you and keep the service working and secure.
Households and children
Epic Life Planner is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account. If you add children to a household, you are the one providing their ages and constraints. We use that only to keep recommendations age-appropriate. We do not create accounts for children, and we do not knowingly collect information directly from anyone under 13. If you think we have, write to us and we will delete it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account, household, and issue history while the account is open. If you delete the account, we cancel any Stripe subscription and delete household, preference, and pick data we control. Stripe and our email provider may keep records they are required to keep (for example, billing or delivery logs). Session records expire on their own.
Your choices
- Update name, household, interests, and delivery settings in the app.
- Cancel a paid plan from Profile. Access continues through the end of the paid period unless a refund applies under the Terms of Use.
- Delete the account from Profile. That cannot be undone.
- Unsubscribe from the weekly issue by deleting the account or dropping to a plan that does not include it. Account mail (security and billing) may still go to the address on file.
US state privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we have, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” as those words are defined under state law. We do not sell or share personal information in that sense. You can exercise access, correction, and deletion from Profile, or by writing to us. We will not discriminate against you for using these rights. If someone is authorized to act for you, we may need to verify that.
Security
We hash passwords, restrict who can reach production systems, and use reputable processors for cards and mail. No internet service is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach that affects you, we will notify you as the law requires.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and, when the change is material, tell you by email or in the product. Continued use after the change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
